The Return of WoPC

It's been a few months, but, alas poor listeners, I am not dead yet, nor have I lost my voice permanently. Cringe in fear now, mortals.

Some talk of 2.1. Talk of me being bored with the game, and that 2.1 might be the make or break patch for me. Rant against a limey tard.

Loved the cast, just listened to it. However I think there was a small mistake in the rant about total 'nub'scuit, he's not the host of the weekly murloc, he is affiliated with WoW Radio. I don't believe the weekly murloc podcast has anything to do with WoW Radio or total n00bscuit. Just thought I'd bring that to your attention. Other than that... Great show, great rant, stick in there man WoW will get better again.

So one of my listeners pointed to me a 'slanderous' podcast about myself. I wondered, with Patch 2.1.0, just how short any podcast could be on content to have to do such at thing? But ok, I can roll with that, let's see what this fellow has to say.

Let me correct a few points for your next rant. I tend to find that rants work a lot better when you base them on actual facts.

1) 8.5 years radio experience. True, that would make me just over 13. Of course it would be helpful if you didn't lie to your listeners by saying I mentioned '8.5 years of FM radio experience'. I believe I actually said 4. Know what was around 8.5 years ago that I was involved in? Live365 beta. Which of course had you done your research, you'd have known I was involved in. Unfortunate you got off on such a bad foot there, I was hoping for a good rant.

2) Still at college? Degree's on the wall matey, has been for a while. We start University at 18 here.

3) We at WoW Radio apologise for the state of our server. Our popularity is apparently getting the better of us. I suppose that would happen when you're shifting almost a million podcasts a month. We hope World of Podcast is able to enjoy similar success at some point.

4) I'm sure you don't care about sponsors when Blogspot can support your podcast. Sadly we outgrew them a long time ago :( Sucks, it would be nice not to have to pay for all of this.

5) We are indeed the first, and the best, however you are guilty of taking that quote out of context, a poor-mans debating tactic. Had you bothered to quote the rest of the post you would see why I believe that. Listenership has nothing to do with it, it's just a very nice by-product of quality.

6) Most of the WoW community does not care about podcasts in general, so the majority comment is moot. Every one of our uber-guild interviews has pulled in huge listener numbers and been a talking point within the WoW forum and uberguild community for months afterwards. I'd say that's rather important and let's face it, these guys don't put out to just anyone. Grats if you don't care about World Firsts but don't speak for everyone. Some of the biggest WoW fansites on the net are centered entirely on raid progression.

7) I could of course go fuck off, if need be. But before I do let me point out the difference between 'decades' and 'centuries'. Why on earth would I ever say decades? O_o You might wanna check your facts before misinforming your listeners but of course that's up to you. I'm sure they're smart enough to make their own judgements.

I could go on but I'm a busy man and I just wanted a little pre-work amusement. Your ranting technique is lacking I'm afraid, sorry, I was not entertained, nor did I even feel slandered since you universally failed to use facts or actual evidence. It's a shame you felt the need to waste your listeners time with this silliness, certainly a very 'grownup' thing to do slugger :)

And one final thing. A little piece of advice when it comes to podcasting.

Less QQ, more PewPew.

Sweet! A podcast celebrity cat fight!! There’s only one way to settle this. Get Blizzard to set up a special 1v1 arena at Blizzcon. :)

Seriously, I listen to a several WoW podcasts. I applaud wcradio for the sheer volume of material that they publish. wcradio is also where I heard my first WoW podcast (way back in beta). So they deserve kudos.

However, quantity does not equal quality. And TB should not imply that wcradio podcasts are somehow more professional that any of the others. They are not. A lot of times, the guys at wcradio (TB included) seem to just be struggling to fill their weekly hour show and get it over with. I usually just skip through empty filler content like “Rappin the Forums” to get to the 10-15 minutes of actual content in an episode of “Blue Plz!”.

TB, regarding your post on the wcradio forums that started all this fuss, some people will like your stuff and some won’t. If you feel the need to defend your work, don’t tear down other podcasters to do it.

peace out...

I agree with newb365, the Internet tube is big enough for more W.o.W Podcasts! ;)

hm, according to some, cursing is a sign of a small vocabulary , I guess legendary thread, wowcast, maximum pc podcast, 7th son etc all have small vocabulary and not professional.
Having a mature or explicit rating is not a factor in how good or bad a podcast is.

This whole thing started with the whole "podcasting sucks" and I say "RSS RULES" :>

Let me make it clear that I am a listener of WoW Radio. I'm not here to stick up for TotalBiscuit. He's a grown boy, he can do that for himself.

First of all, this is the first time I've listened to your show, and I have to say it was terrible. I was under the impression that this was a World of Warcraft show, not a show where someone makes incoherent and vulgar rants about comments someone makes on the internet. By devoting nearly half of your show to telling off someone you've never even met, it seems like you've done a great disservice to your fans who actually tune in for information about WoW.

In addition, I have never heard such vitriol in my Podcast listenership. I understand it's in your nature to curse on air, and in moderation it isn't all that bad. However, in your rant you didn't sound like you were targeting a mature audience. It sounded more like the whining of a 12 year old boy. Perhaps you should act your own age before using someone else's age as rant feul.

oh wow!
this is so amazing. i really like how you claim to be worse than everyone else. because it's very true. i respect you'r opinions (well, i don't, but it makes my arguments sound better) but it would be nice to back up your arguments once in a while.I really think calling Total biscuit unprofessional is strange coming from... someone like you (a clearly unprofessional asshat doing a lousy podcast with a handful of retarded listeners). when did Total Biscuit ever claim to go to the United States of Obesity to start a multi billion dollar radio station? or even doing radio? as for you. yes. yes you are boring, as you said. i couldn't even push myself to listen to your unprepared ramlings about the patch. if i were you i'd think about getting some background music. By the way... adding colourful cuss-words to every sentance you expout does not make you a better "radio" host. i wish you the best of luck in improving your little podcast to something more than "lame, angry guy with microphone".
